Life Insurance Personal Details

The first things you will need to provide when doing your life insurance application are your personal details and the personal details of the life assured if they are different to you the policy holder. This will be clearly marked so you can see where to input the details for those to be covered and those that are taking out the cover.

You will be asked to provide the following:

• Title
• Full name
• Date of birth
• Current address
• Future planned address - If the life assurance application is linked to a mortgage the applicants may not have moved into their new home yet.
• Contact telephone number
• Relationship - This is required because if there are more than one applicant they will need to prove that there is an insurance interest between the two, such as married couples have an obvious variety of insurable interests such as a joint mortgage. The insurer can request further information on insurable interest if they are not satisfied that this is obvious from the information provided on the application. The relationship between all parties must be explained. Often this is simple as the majority of applications will be Mr and Mrs as both lives assured and policy holders.
